    Description

    This basket is a quality, tightly woven basket with diamond design. I am not the original owner, but after researching baskets to see where it may have originated from, I would guess it is vintage and made by a basket weaver in either the Wounaan or Embera tribe of Panama. The bottom appears to have an "E" and a "W" woven into the base. At first I thought it might be the initials of the weaver, but it could possibly be the E and W of Embera and Wounaan. These are guesses on my part; all I know for sure is it's a quality made basket.
    This item is stained. Please see the close-up picture showing a spot of yellow. Still a great item for everyday use or display in a collection.
    The basket measures about 5 inches tall, and 7 inches across at its widest point.
