Vintage January 1975 CRAWDADDY Jimi Hendrix Grateful Dead John Lennon Yoko Ono
    __________________________________________________
This is the January 1975 issue of Crawdaddy Magazine with Jimi Hendrix on the cover. The cover photo like some weird scan, but the cover photo is exactly like that. Note that the article listing on the left hand side of the cover is clear.
The Jimi Hendrix article is six pages of text plus some great photos of Jimi along with the lyrics to "The Story of Life" which according Monika Danneman was written by Hendrix the afternoon before his death and atleast one person, Eric Burdon, describes this as being his suicide note. Also includes review of John Lennon's Walls and Bridges album; Jefferson Starship's Dragon Fly; Lou Reed's Sally Can't Dance; plus many others.
Also includes articles about Robert Hunter, the lyricist from the Grateful Dead, Patti Labelle, Bruce Dern, Joseph Heller, and lots more. Of course this one has the usual columns, reviews and full page music industry ads like Leonard Cohen and Grand Funk Railroad.
Crawdaddy was one of the first American rock music magazines that was launched in 1966, created  in response to the increasing sophistication and cultural influence of popular music. The New York Times has described Crawdaddy! as "the first magazine to take rock and roll seriously”, while rival title Rolling Stone acknowledged it as "the first serious publication devoted to rock & roll news and criticism". Regardless, these classic 1960s and 70s issues are very rare and collectible today.
