There was a very short time when southwest used the slogan “just plane smart.” From Oct 1990 to March 1992. There was a slogan conflict between Southwest and Stevens aviation who used that slogan years prior. The dispute was comically settled between the airlines in a arm wrestling match between the CEOs! Southwest lost and they forfeited the slogan!
