Description
Reluctantly offered for sale is this incredible, original tour jacket from the 1970's "Country Shindig" tours / shows of Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. This was the personal jacket issued to Twitty's longtime touring drummer Tommy "Pork Chop" Markham, with his name stitched over the chest.
Conway famously was never allowed to record a major label album with his own band, whom he'd been with since his early rockabilly days, but they remained his touring band and their live shows are the stuff of legend to country fans in the know. Do some youtube searching to see Pork Chop in action ; he was truly a force of nature (searching "Conway Twitty Oslo" will provide a nice introduction).
This is tagged as a large. Measurements are:
21" across the top of shoulders, seam to seam
24" from top of shoulder to sleeve cuff
27" from collar seam to waist
24" from armpit to armpit
I am about 6' 0" , 170lbs. and it fits me like it was tailored.
It is in excellent condition with no weird odors, tears, rips, etc... There are two small areas of discolor on either side of the collar tag, to the lining, otherwise it is a remarkable survivor.
I hate to even think about selling it, but recent personal events make it an adult decision.
Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate with questions. I ship safely packed and promptly dispatched, same day as payment, via UPS Ground.
