    Description

    XA9565 Transitional
Brush Bracket Assembly for 1948 Steam Locomotives:
This less common brush bracket has the raised bearing mount seen in use with the 1948 steam locomotives fitted with the early style armature
    without
the oil sling - shown in the next to last photo.  Also, used on the motors for early accessories, such as billboard whistles and Seaboard coal loader.  I presume this allowed AC Gilbert to use up leftover stock as they transitioned to the common bracket with the flush bearing placement and armatures fitted with the oil sling. Clean and unbroken, the bracket assembly includes the bearing, oil wick, 2 mounting screws (S29), 2 lock washers, 2 New Old Stock NOS Coil type springs and 2 NOS round brushes, ready to go.  I have the bracket in black or brown Bakelite.  Please review the photographs carefully.  The last 3 photos are reference for the 3 main steam engine brush brackets. The next-to-last photo has the transitional bracket with raised bearing platform, while the last photo is the more common version from sometime in 1948 and on to the late 1950's.  I will be happy to answer questions, I just kindly ask that you do so prior to your bid.  I do combine shipping.  Thank you!
