Original 1969 WOODSTOCK Festival POSTER, Hand-Signed by artist Arnold Skolnick.Billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music" and alternatively referred to as the Woodstock Rock Festival, was a three-day festival on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York, 40 miles southwest of Woodstock from August 15th through the 18th 1969. The festival attracted an audience of more than 400,000 Aquarians who gathered to celebrate peace, love, and music during the heyday of the 1960s counterculture movement. 32 acts performed outdoors despite sporadic rain and featured performances from Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sly & the Family Stone, The Who, and Jefferson Airplane. Presented here is an original 24 x 36-inch Woodstock promotional poster signed by the artist who created the iconic poster, Arnold Skolnick. Skolnick, a graphic artist, was commissioned by Woodstock Ventures to develop a poster that captured the spirit of the festival, and Skolnick, in turn, created one of the most iconic posters in rock history. The poster from the festival is red and features a white catbird perched on the neck of an acoustic guitar. "WOODSTOCK MUSIC & ART FAIR PRESENTS AN AQUARIAN EXPOSITION IN WHITE LAKE, N.Y." in black on the top right corner. "3 DAYS OF PEACE & MUSIC" is labeled in white on the bottom right corner. The bottom right corner features the lineup for the concert, the dates, and other offerings held during the now-iconic festival. The poster features some elements of cornering and has been rolled up. Skolnick signed the bottom right of the poster with a black marker. The iconic poster from one of rock's most historic and significant moments comes with an LOA from Arnold Skolnick.
