1968 Chrysler 300 Series

Description

This 1968 Chrysler 300 is a two owner car. I got it from the original owner in 2015. He had a restoration done in 1984 and had a separate garage built for the car. The car shows 55266 miles, which is likely 155,266. It is a 440, 4 bbl, 727 automatic car. The transmission has a minor leak, but not enough to add fluid the last two years. The interior is pretty much original and in decent condition. The driver's seat shows usual wear. The original owner bypassed the heater core due to a leak and it is still bypassed, that is about the only negative to say. It only sees sunny days, so I haven't got around to having the heater re-cored. The only interior issue is the passenger side vent window knob is missing (handle is there) and passenger side hvac vent adjuster is in the glove box (likely taken off to get to heater core by previous owner). The wipers work, interior and exterior lights all work, including the motor for the hideaway headlights, gauges all work, power windows all work, and AM radio works. Since owning the car I have had a full tune-up done, new fuel pump, fuel filter, new Edelbrock 750 carb, new radiator as well as hoses, new throttle cable, radial tires, and last fall a local shop went through the front suspension, brakes and steering system. They ended up replacing the drums, shoes, hubs, tie rods, and remanufactured the driver's side spindle. Pretty much everything on the vehicle has been replaced as needed to keep it roadworthy. It gets driven to local shows and events 2-3 times a week without issues. The trunk of the car includes many replacement parts collected by original owner including a spare set of wheel covers, tune-up kit, water pump, ignition module, and a car cover for storage. The body shows well with two minor Knicks behind the passenger side wheel well, touched up by previous owner. Right now it doesn't show any bubbling that I see and seems solid. the underside has the factory style undercoating and shows some basic surface rust in spots, but nothing out of the ordinary for a car that was driven. The only spot that appears to have bondo is the underside of the driver's door. This car is a great cruiser and I trust it to go anywhere. I have yet to see a similar era C-body Chrysler in as good of shape as this car, it has been well cared for by both owners.
