A very attractive 1838 large stars, seated liberty half dime graded AU 53 by ANACS. It carries superior detail for the grade with very mark free surfaces. We believe this coin should have graded higher but it was certified back in the 1980's. It has been housed in a small size old time ANACS holder. It holds beautiful rich toning among both sides that matches fairly evenly. A beautiful coin that has well earned it's grade.
This Phildealphia Mint date holds a total mintage of 2,225,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that 3,000 only have survived in all grades today.
